442 new guests, on 550 PLN of ads

Restauracja KARATWiązowna

How a family pizzeria that filled itself every weekend and emptied every Monday got the other four days back.

What went missing

KARAT has been making wood-fired pizza in Wiązowna for years, with regulars who turn up on a Saturday without being asked. Monday to Thursday it was a few tables.

The neighbourhood kept growing and the new arrivals had no idea it was there. There was no website, so anyone searching for somewhere to eat nearby found the menu, the hours and the phone number of a competitor instead.

The retrieval

A plain site went up with the real menu, the kitchen's own photographs and a way to book, so the search that used to end at a competitor ends here.

We took the Facebook and Instagram accounts off the owner's hands, three to five posts a week, and pointed small campaigns at people living a few kilometres away who could be at the table that evening.

What came back

  • 442People who called, messaged or booked after an ad
  • 550 PLNTotal campaign spend behind them

The average bill at KARAT runs 60 to 80 PLN, so a dozen of those 442 covers the campaign. The rest is the difference between an empty Tuesday and a working one.

From the founder

My dad has run restaurants his whole life.

I grew up in one. I watched agencies do to him exactly what this page just described.

All of us building this are close to the restaurant industry. This isn't an outside bet on a market. It's personal.
